It was music or nothing.

Molly, for Now technically started almost 20 years ago; co-leaders Dayrit and MTLano met when they were 9 and they have been creating together ever since. In 2017, they took a big leap of faith and moved to Queens, NY from Huntsville, AL with nothing more than a couple of bags and a collective $450 and no jobs.

They did a few shows, wrote a number of songs, and eventually met TONIE (formerly Wind Meets West), Doctor Brick, Baseille T. Richardson, and Nicolas Kuo through the Asian Creative Network - New York City group in 2019. We debuted this super group of talent at DROM NYC in August 2019. About a year later, TONIE left the group to pursue their own solo career and we were able to add in the immense talent that is Iggy Guerrero. We haven’t looked back since.

We are a proud, POC band that enjoys pushing the boundaries of genre and connecting our different musical and cultural backgrounds through music.

Our band separately is a force to be reckoned with. MTLano has performed at Radio City Music Hall and has studied with some of the greats of Lin Manuel Miranda’s Freestyle Love Supreme. Dayrit’s day job is sound editing for film/television at Parabolic Studios NY as well a music producer for independent artists. Nicolas Kuo is a working session guitar player. Doctor Brick is a top 32 ranked beatboxer in the US. Baseille is a film equipment representative as well as a session bass player. Iggy is working musical theatre director/accompanist for his day job.
